Project description
A closed cooking corner became a single room for prep, homework, and late supper.
The old kitchen faced a blank wall and stored things nobody could reach. We redrew the run so the sink took the window, the hob had a landing space, and the island could hold a school bag without becoming the only worktop.
The household kept two appliances. They were measured before cabinets were ordered, which avoided the usual last-week scramble. Lighting was split between a calm general wash and task lights over the chop zone.
Dust was held in the room. The dining table next door stayed in use, with a protected path. The punch list was a hinge, a silicone line, and a light switch, all closed in one return visit.
“It cooks like a smaller restaurant and still feels like our house. The path to the table never turned into a building site.”
