These Terms & Services explain how Peakform offers home improvement guidance through this website and how a written project scope, once accepted by email, governs work in a home. Please read them with the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You may still email us with a question.
Agreement
By browsing cafedeparfumth.com, sending an email to Peakform, or asking for a scope, you agree to these terms. They cover the website itself and the way we describe services. They do not, by themselves, obligate either of us to start construction, demolition, or ordering of materials. A project begins only when both households and Peakform have accepted a written scope by email.
These terms are written in plain language on purpose. Home improvement is full of jargon, and a document that hides the real allocation of responsibility is not useful when a wall is open. If a sentence in a later written scope conflicts with this page, the written scope controls for that project only. The rest of these terms continue to apply.
Who we are
Peakform is a home improvement studio. We plan and carry out work on roofs, kitchens, bathrooms, exteriors, floors, windows, doors, and related comfort upgrades. We are not a lender, an insurer, a real-estate broker, or an emergency response service. We do not publish a street desk or a telephone number. The reliable way to reach the studio is email at hello@cafedeparfumth.com.
“We”, “us”, and “our” mean Peakform. “You” means the person using the website or the household that invites us to look at a home. If you write on behalf of another adult, you confirm that you are allowed to share that person’s contact details and to discuss the home.
Using the website
The pages, drawings of the logo, wording, and layout are for information. Photographs show homes, materials, and people so you can understand the kind of work we do. A photograph is not a promise that your home will look the same. Every house has its own structure, light, moisture history, and budget of time.
You may read, share links, and print a page for your own household. You may not copy the site into another commercial template, scrape it in bulk, or present our wording as your own offer of services. You may not attempt to interfere with the site, probe it for weaknesses, or upload harmful code. The site is static. It does not host accounts, shopping carts, or public comments.
Enquiries are not contracts
Forms on this website check that a message is complete inside your browser. They are not connected to a server and they do not deliver a message to us by themselves. A confirmation shown after a form is checked is a local acknowledgement on your device. It is not proof that a representative has received a project, and it does not reserve a date.
If you want a reply, email hello@cafedeparfumth.com with your name, the rooms involved, and a short description. We read mail during studio hours, Monday to Saturday, 8:00 to 18:00. We may decline a project that sits outside our craft, that needs an emergency make-safe we cannot reach in time, or that we do not have the capacity to sequence properly.
Estimates and proposals
Any range, package name, or sample scope on the Pricing page is a planning aid. It is not a quotation for your home. Roofs hide their real condition under the covering. Kitchens hide plumbing inside walls. A fair number cannot be invented from a photograph alone.
A written estimate lists what we propose to do, what we are not doing, the materials basis, the sequence, and the assumptions we had to make. It expires if it is not accepted within the period stated in the email, because material availability and our calendar both move. Acceptance is an email from you saying you accept that version of the scope, or a signed copy you send back. Silence is not acceptance. A verbal hallway conversation is not acceptance.
Visits to your home
A care visit is a scheduled look at the areas you want improved. We observe, photograph with your permission, and ask about how you use the rooms. We do not open concealed structure during a first conversation unless we have agreed that investigative opening is part of the visit and you understand the finish will need a temporary cover.
You decide who is home. Please make the areas safe to walk, restrain pets, and tell us about loose steps, low clearances, or known fragile finishes before we arrive. We will not move through a home in a way that ignores a boundary you have set. If a visit is cancelled, email us as early as you can so the time can be offered to another household.
Scope of work
The scope is the whole description of the job: drawings or sketches if we prepared them, the specification of coverings and fixtures, the list of rooms, and the exclusions. Work that is not written down is not included. A common exclusion is rebuilding hidden structure that only becomes visible after a surface is opened. When that happens we stop the affected task, show you what we found, and price the change before continuing that part.
We will not quietly “make it match” by expanding into rooms that were never listed. If you want an adjoining space included, ask for a revision. Matching old work exactly is not always possible. Tile dye lots, timber grain, and metal finishes vary. The scope will say when a match is approximate.
Your responsibilities
You are responsible for the accuracy of what you tell us about ownership, leaks you have noticed, previous repairs, and appliances you intend to keep. You are responsible for decisions that only the household can make: layout preferences, colours, and which heirlooms must not be moved. Delay in choosing a finish can pause the sequence, and a pause can mean a room stays protected but unfinished.
You agree not to direct a person on site to perform extra tasks that contradict the written scope. Kind as that request may feel in the moment, it creates unfinished edges and arguments later. Extra tasks go through email so they can be written down.
Access, occupancy, and daily life
Homes stay lived in during many of our projects. We will agree working hours, a path from the entrance to the work zone, and where tools may rest. Bathrooms and kitchens that remain in use need a clear plan for the days they cannot be used. We will say those days in advance rather than surprise a household at breakfast.
Children may live in the home. Work zones are not play areas. Please help us keep children, guests, and pets out of open floors, wet finishes, and tool paths. We will keep the zone as orderly as the trade allows, and we will not leave a hazardous opening unattended without a barrier we have agreed.
Protection of finishes
Before dusty or wet work, we protect floors, stairs, and nearby furniture that must stay, using coverings suited to the task. Protection reduces risk. It does not make a home immune to a scuff. Please move small, fragile, or irreplaceable objects yourself. Tell us about finishes that cannot take tape, such as fresh paint or loose veneer.
Gardens, paths, and neighbouring boundaries deserve the same care. We will not store materials where they block a shared path unless you have agreed the place and the duration. At the end of each working day we leave the home securable in the way we found its locks, unless a temporary opening is part of the agreed scope and has been discussed that morning.
Materials and selections
Materials are specified by type, and where it matters by a named product you have chosen. If a product is discontinued or unreasonably delayed, we will offer a close alternative and wait for your email before substituting, unless a delay would leave the home open to weather and we have already agreed a weather-safe fallback.
You may supply an item yourself, such as a tap or a light. If you do, the scope will say so, and our care covers fitting a suitable item, not the manufacturer’s warranty for the item. Lead times belong in the schedule. Ordering late because a sample was not approved is a change to time, not a fault in the original plan.
Changes
You may ask for a change. We will reply with the effect on the work, the sequence, and the finish. A change is accepted only when you confirm the revised note by email. Work already completed is not undone free of charge because a preference changed after the finish went on.
We may also propose a change when the building reveals a condition the scope assumed was otherwise. You may accept, decline, or ask for a different approach. If you decline a change that is required for safety or weather protection, we may pause the affected area rather than leave it unsafe.
Time, weather, and sequencing
Home improvement is sequenced so that wet trades, dusty trades, and final finishes do not ruin one another. A date in an email is a plan, not a guarantee against weather, illness, a delayed manufactured item, or a discovery inside a wall. We will tell you promptly when a date must move, and we will propose the next honest window.
Roofing and exterior painting depend on dry, calm conditions. We will not sacrifice a weather-tight detail to keep a ceremonial date. Interior work can often continue when the outside cannot. We will say which tasks are weather-tied in the scope so the household can plan around them.
Payment rhythm
The written scope explains when amounts are due. A typical rhythm is a confirmation amount when the scope is accepted, further amounts at agreed milestones, and a final amount after the walkthrough items that are ours to complete have been closed. We do not ask you to pay for work that has not been described.
If a milestone is overdue we may pause ordering or site time until the account is brought current. We would rather pause than let a misunderstanding grow inside an open room. Disputed items should be emailed with photographs while the rest of an undisputed milestone is settled. We do not charge a separate fee merely for sending an email.
Care after completion
When the described work is complete we walk the home with you and list finishing items. Our workmanship care covers defects in the labour we provided, for the period written in the scope. It does not cover misuse, a later leak from an appliance we did not install, movement that is normal in an older building, or a product failure that sits with the manufacturer.
Manufacturer warranties, where they exist, pass to you. Keep the labels and the scope email. If something needs attention, write to us with the project name and photographs. We will say whether it is workmanship, a product, or maintenance that belongs to the household, such as clearing a gutter that has filled again with leaves.
Existing conditions
Houses settle, previous repairs vary in quality, and moisture can travel far from the stain you see. We are responsible for the work we add and for the junctions we open. We are not responsible for the entire history of the building. If an existing system is near the end of its life, we will say so when we can see it, and we will not pretend a surface repair is a structural one.
Tests we did not agree to perform, such as invasive moisture mapping of a whole elevation or laboratory analysis, are outside a standard scope unless listed. Recommendations we make about consulting a structural specialist are professional courtesy, not a structural certificate.
Hazardous materials
Older finishes can contain materials that require a specialist licence and a controlled method of removal. Peakform does not remediate hazardous materials. If we suspect such a material in an area we are asked to disturb, we stop that disturbance, make the area as safe as a temporary cover allows, and tell you to engage a qualified specialist. The project sequence waits for that specialist’s clearance.
Please tell us before work starts if you already know of such materials, of buried services, or of a tank or well near the work. Striking an unknown service is a danger to people first and a delay second.
Photographs
We photograph conditions so the scope is honest and so you can see what changed. Those photographs are part of the project conversation. We will not publish photographs of your home, your family, or identifying details on this website or elsewhere unless you agree in a separate email. You may withdraw that agreement for future use before a page is updated.
Photographs already printed in a document we sent only to you are for your household. Please do not republish our site photography as if it documented your own business.
Cancellation and pausing
You may cancel a project that has not started by email. If materials were ordered specifically for you after acceptance, the scope will explain which of those costs remain payable because they cannot be returned. You may ask us to pause. A pause longer than the period in the scope may require a refreshed estimate, because conditions and prices of materials move.
We may cancel if the home is unsafe to enter, if we are asked to do something unlawful, if hazardous materials are disturbed against our stop-work note, or if communication has broken down so thoroughly that we cannot deliver the scope responsibly. We will confirm cancellation by email and describe the state in which the home is left.
Intellectual property
The Peakform name, the roof-mark logo, page text, and original graphics belong to the studio. Sketches we prepare for your scope are licensed to you for that home. You may not reuse them as a bidding package for a different project or hand them to another firm as if they were generic drawings, except where you need a specialist to see what we proposed.
Nothing on the site grants a trademark licence. Please do not register a confusingly similar name for a building business or imply that we endorse a product we have not named.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site or our email to send unlawful, misleading, or abusive material. Do not attempt to harvest addresses, to impersonate the studio, or to present a forged scope. Do not rely on the site for guidance in an emergency such as a collapse, a gas smell, or an active flood. Leave the building if you are in danger and contact local emergency services. We cannot respond as an emergency crew.
We may refuse, mute, or stop a correspondence that is threatening. We do not have to explain a refusal of a project beyond a short, civil note.
Stories on the website
Project stories and testimonials describe the kind of outcomes households have valued. They are illustrations, not a warranty of an identical result. Names used with portraits identify the story as presented on the page. Timing, products, and existing buildings differ. Do not treat a testimonial as a promise about cost or duration.
Email notes
If you subscribe to project notes, you agree to receive occasional messages about care of roofs and rooms, material choices, and studio news. You can stop them at any time by the Unsubscribe page’s instructions and by emailing hello@cafedeparfumth.com with the subject “Unsubscribe” from the same address. Details sit in the Privacy Policy. Transactional mail about a live scope is separate from those notes and continues while a project is open, because it is how we record decisions.
Liability
To the extent permitted by the rules that apply to you and to us, Peakform is not liable for indirect or consequential loss such as a cancelled gathering, a night in another place that you arranged without asking us, or a drop in the paper value of a home. We do not exclude liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Where a limitation is allowed, our total liability arising from a project is limited to the amount you paid us for that project. Website content is provided as general information. You are responsible for decisions you make without a written scope. Nothing in this section reduces a manufacturer’s duties or any non-excludable consumer protection that applies to the household.
Other people and products
We may introduce a specialist, such as a glazier or a moisture consultant, when the scope says so. If you contract that specialist directly, their terms govern their work. Products we specify remain subject to their makers’ instructions. A beautiful finish can fail if it is cleaned with the wrong chemical. We will leave you care notes for the finishes we install.
Links from this site, if any are added later, do not mean we control those destinations. Email providers, font hosts, and your own browser are outside our site. Their handling of technical requests is described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes to these terms
We may update this page as the studio’s services evolve. The date at the bottom will change. The version you accepted with a written scope remains the version for that project, together with the scope itself. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the new website terms. A change will not quietly rewrite a scope that was already accepted.
Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@cafedeparfumth.com. Please use a subject line such as “Terms question” so it is read with the right attention. We do not offer a telephone line or a published street address for service of casual messages. If a formal notice is required for a live project, the scope email will say how that notice should be sent.
These terms, together with an accepted written scope and the Privacy Policy, are the whole agreement about the website and about that project. If a clause is found unenforceable, the remaining clauses stay in effect. A failure to insist on a clause once is not a waiver of it later.
